Chilean Salmon sales in the U.S. have been growing each year as consumer habits move toward health and wellness. They’re steaming hot because consumers recognize the unique health benefits salmon offers and the delicious taste.
Even in the face of inflation, salmon sales remain robust in the U.S. Grocery retailers report that salmon drives overall seafood sales in both fresh and frozen form. Menu penetration in foodservice continues to grow. Per-capita consumption has risen dramatically and doesn’t appear to be slowing. Chilean Salmon is a winner for grocery retail, foodservice, and the consumers who benefit from consumption.
Research suggests that consumption of omega 3 fatty acids like those found in Chilean salmon may slow the effects of aging.
A diet high in omega 3 fatty acids is essential to maternal health. The U.S.D.A. recommends consumption of 8-12 ounces of seafood per week!
The U.S.D.A. now recommends that kids eat salmon too! They even endorse salmon baby food due to the omega 3 content.
